K.BALACHANDER – GURU DEPARTS – MUNDE BANNI RIGHT RIGHT!

One of the prolific directors of this subcontinent K Balachander popularly known as KB – the Guru of Rajanikanth, Kamal Haasan, Prakash Raj, Ramesh Aravind, Thara Anuradha and scores of others finished his journey on earth. At 82 the mesmerizing director and writer breathed last at Chennai Cauvery Hospital. A week back he was admitted to this hospital at Alwarpet.

Known for social themes in his films with bold creations KB directed Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam language films and he was the winner of Dada Saheb Phalke award in 2010.

The Ustaad in writing scripts and doing direction keeping in view middle class in mind in his last days acted in ‘Utthama Villain’ in the direction of his Shishya Ramesh Aravind with Ulaganayakan Dr Kamal Haasan in the lead role.

Kailasam Balachander has directed his first Kannada cinema in 1978. It was ‘Thappida Thaala’. In 82 he directed Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu that introduced Suhasini to Kannada and Dr Kamal Haasan played the role of bus conductor that was real life job of Rajanikanth in Bengaluru roads before making it big in Tamil cinema.

The films like Eradu Rekhegalu – the song Neela Megha Shyama….still lingers in the memory with Geetha and Saritha, Mugila Mallige and it was ‘Sundara Swapnagalu’ of KB introduced Ramesh Aravind to Kannada cinema.

The legends live every after they depart. That is the biggest beauty of this ART field.
